In a mission to spread joy of reading among Malaysians, Pahang will be be first stop among nine other states for year 2019.
Book lovers, rejoice! After a successful end to its annual sale in December 2018, the nation's favourite Book Sale - the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is back for another year of book sales across Malaysia. Starting the year with its first local sale in Kuantan from 28 February till 10 March 2019, book lovers will be able able to grab a wide variety of books at University Malaysia Pahang, Gambang.
"This year will be an exciting one for all of us at the Big Bad Wolf Books. In conjunction with our 10th year Anniversary and for the first time ever, we will be bringing the books sale to 10 states locally to celebrate our milestone," said Andrew Yap, Founder of the Big Bad Wolf Books.
Featuring books at unbeatable discounts of 75% - 95%, book lovers will be able to shop to their heart's content from 10.00 AM till midnight at the Big Bad Wolf Books Sale in Pahang. Showcasing in the widest selection of best-sellers, young adult novels, romance, sci-fi, crime, thriller, business books, architecture books, art and design books, cookbooks and more, customers will be delighted to find them in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Suitable for the young and old, the book sale will be featuring well known titles from the authors, and locally published books from over 40 publishers such as PTS, Karangkraf, Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka and ITBM Publishing. In addition to that, 12 indie books publishers consisting of Buku Fixi, Dubook Press, Lejen Press, The Patriots and Maple Comics will be joining in too. Educational books from Sasbadi and Pelangi and univesity publications under the Majlis Penerbitan Ilmiah Malaysia (MAPIM) group will also be available during the 11-day sale.
Besides that, parents will be pleased to find various books under the Children Section that will make learning more fun for their little ones. One of the many books to look for is the augmented reality (AR) books by Little Hippo where eight titles will be featured. Using cutting-edge AR technology, Little Hippo's AR books create an immersive and interactive reading experience that will revolutionise reading for the next generation, allowing children to read, play and learn at the same time.
"One of the Big Bad Wolf's values has always been about cultivating the love and joy for reading among the people. As we grow as a brand, we plan to continue to bring affordable books to more cities locally and abroad, with our aim to inspire and empower people with knowledge," added Yap.
In an aim to give back to the community, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is continuing its Corporate Social Responsibility arm with the Red Reader Hood Programme across its Sale throughout Malaysia.
For the sale in Kuantan, underprivileged children from multiple homes under the Pertubuhan Komuniti Harap Kuantan (HARAP) will be benefitting from the programme where the public could donate books purchased at the sale. This initiative is to ensure that underprivileged children has the access to quality books.
Selling more than just books, customers can also purchase bagdes, magnets and Big Bad Wolf merchandise at the sale. As the event goes all the way till midnight, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale will also be bringing in food trucks to Universiti Malaysia Pahang, so hungry visitors at the sale can always fill up their tummies and quench their thirst anytime with delectable food and drinks.
