Why do you blog? | Discussion Post

A few month ago Nurul Rasya posted Why do you blog? discussion on her blog. It's quite interesting and I promised to actually replied it with my own 'Why Do You Blog' entry on mine. It's nothing special but this could be fun.

Blog used to be one of the medium which I made into an online diary back in 2012. Back then I knew nothing about blog template, all these labels and categories, what kind of blogger I really am and so on. All I know is just to write and share what I feel like sharing. Knowing nothing about all the trends these days, I started my own personal online space. It went on for 5 years and I end up not updating anymore. Since, life has gotten a bit busier where I need to focus on my study. Today we are all exposed to internets and all the media socials while back in 2000's I only have facebook and can rarely used computers since I stays in hostels.

    Enough of that.

    So why do I blog?

I've never really imagine myself having a blog. Being a blogger. Having the opportunity to do this and that. But in the end I just did.

It was purely just for fun. I love engaging with other people through blogging. We have friendster and myspace but none really gives me joy in doing so. Might be because I'm bad at using the computers and playing with social medias. Plus I sense no direction of where it's heading in the future. To my surprise it really went off just like that, for me. Through blogging I actually learned a lot of things. From zero ideas, I can actually generate more ideas to write and blog from time to time.

What happen to my old blog?

All I can say is that, it has all gone. The content was rather a bit uncanny for me if  I look back at it. So I decided to to delete it and start a new.

    General Knowledge and informations

Believe it or not, blogging has given me so much more than I can imagine. Instead of socialising outside, I do it inside. Or I can say that it's indoor. Don't get me wrong. What I meant is that, this girl is not the kind who always go out to mingle around with other people. But most of the time, she spend time reading what others write and through that I can actually absorb so many other things that the others share.

With that, I can't thank you enough to those who has always been sharing so many information to everyone. You guys are awesome.
Do you still blog? It it still relevant?
The most common question I get whenever people knew that I blog. Sometimes I'm a bit shy to share that I have a blog, but what is the point of me blogging if it is not for others to read the things I shared. Why do I blog if it is not for the benefits of others and me. At the very least that is what I told/ask my self each and every time.

    Will I keep on blogging?

Yes that's for sure. I'll keep on blogging for as long as I can. Hoping that I can share things that will benefits other people and me as well. There's certainly a lot more things that can be discuss but I guess it's enough for now. Thank you guys for stopping by. Have a great day.

    Warmly,
    Ray

    8. I started blogging in 2012 I think? Blogs were so popular back then. I started with a personal blog and then changed it to a doodle + personal blog. But I frequently delete and create new ones so I was never really there in the blogging community. I was influenced by many doddle bloggers but none of the blogs existed anymore. I keep on writing but I just kept it private for years, always remain a silent reader. But I decided to go public again this year just because hehe. It's always gonna remain as a personal blog for me. I love writing and I think it's good for my mental health and self reflection? :3

I'm still using classic template btw cause I don't really know how to edit the normal ones. It's easier and simpler for me to edit/tweak the css in the old ones :p

      1. No wonder I've never saw your blog anywhere. I mean there's you commenting on my blog but I wasn't able to visit visit you back. I did feel bad for not being able respond to all your post but since its's your choice I guess that's okay. It's good that you have your very own preferences and were able to stick with it. You're giving a different kind of vibes there and I love it. I was amazed to see your blog at first and will always be excited to see more into it.
For me, I'm not that good with the css or codings anymore so I'd prefer to find my own template for a change. I don't really have the time to do it anymore. XD

    9. For me,being a blogger or have a blog,it is like self-therapy, sometimes you just want to write about something and share some ideas or thought about certain issues...hopefully there is some benefit that readers can get from my blog..insya-Allah..

      1. That is also true. Some may find it the other way around but we felt differently. There's this some sense of satisfaction that we gain when we're able to write something of ours here. Let us strive to be a better blogger in the future. Aamiin.

    11. I started blogging back in 2008, but I forgot the password and started a new one back in 2009, and here I am.
Just like you, I used to write stuff that was so unnecessary and pointless stuff. I reverted it back to draft and just keep it in there forever.

I blog to share and to engage with other people, even though most of my contents is not useful either helpful in any way, I still want to write about it because one of the audience is me, the author. And through blogging too I met and knew a lot of people, nice people. But sadly 90% of them no longer blogs.

I'm glad I know you here, Ray. Let's keep doing this till we can't do it anymore.
