I don't really know where to start as it has been a very long journey. I've never thought I would write this but maybe it's good to keep this one here. I've never really shared about my journey throughout the years as a lifestyle blogger.

Fun!

That's the first word that would ever come to mind when people ask me about blogging. It all started just for fun as I love writing but I began to fall in love with blogging even more. Influencers on the other hand was never a word I would describe myself but blogger would suit me best. 

How it started?

I have never thought that I would go this far in blogging and it was never there from the start, the idea of me being a lifestyle blogger. Back then it was hard to even write one post when I don't even have a computer or laptop. I'd sneak into the computer room and update my blog whenever I was able to. 

I enjoy the sound of the keyboard when my fingers were dancing through as I spelled each word that came to mind. It was more like a diary, a place where sharing experience,s and I even met new friends who share the same passion. It was as simple as that. 

It goes on for years until I finish school and go to college. Things get busier, sadly my blog was abandoned. I stopped.

What happens next changes everything. 

Start from scratch

Seeing how unprofessional my profile was, I took down my old blog. My followers have already increased and it was not an easy decision to make. To start blogging again from scratch means to start from zero. New blog, new post, no followers, and I know it was time to finally pick up a new niche. 

I started posting short blogpost, organizing, and joining giveaways in order to increase my blog's engagement. It worked but I got tired of it. So, I took another break to breathe new air. Finding my momentum and start again. 

Here's what I usually shared on my blog. A portion about my life, basically my lifestyle, the things I'm going through, all the struggles, and how I managed it. There's definitely more to it. As people start to show their interest in what I post, they also began sharing their own experiences and that means a lot to me. You're resonating and connecting with each other. 

Not giving up on my blogging career, I finally saw the light. Well, that took me years. I was finally invited to several events and even collaborated with a few brands. It was a really fun experience. Beauty products were sent to me. Plus, being invited to several restaurants for a review and post it on my blog was also a part of it. That time, it was all new to me, and honestly, it was one of the best moments I've ever had. 

People started to notices and more brands were willing to work with me. I started to get paid in working with them through various campaigns and events. 

It's growing

Over time, having a massive number of followers doesn't satisfy me. Instead, having people resonate with me on my content gives me that sense of fulfillment. It feels like your audience can grab what you're trying to convey. It may not be my main source of income but I've worked on my blog for so many years. That is of course with much help from various peoples. Shout out to all my amazing mentors and friends I've encountered along the beautiful bumpy blogging ride. They've opened my eyes and introduced me to many opportunities that I've never imagined I had. 

By opportunities, I mean influencer marketing. It is a type of social media marketing that uses endorsement and product mentions from any influencers who own unique followers and are specializes in their own niche. You can say that it is related to trust. Their followers trust them in reviewing the products that were given. Many brands are looking forward to working with influencers and bloggers. 

As for me, I'd go for the products that I like and would actually use. It would be a waste if it is not used. I know my friends and readers are looking forward to an honest review and wouldn't want the other way around.

Some may ask if blogging is still relevant?

Oh yes. Blogging is still relevant in the year 2021. From a fact that I found, there are roughly 409M internet users who read about 20B blog pages monthly. That is a big number. No wonder lots of marketers prioritize blogs as their primary content marketing strategy. Moreover, each influencer and blogger have their own traffic, audience, and engagement to reach out to.

Until today, I am still active as a blogger. It's always fun to see the growth of lifestyle influencers and bloggers throughout the years, even my own. Having this blog allows me to see the progress I've made and how much I've grown as I've put so much work in. I may not be the best but I will always try my best.
