Disconnect to Reconnect

These days I found it very tiring to stay on social media. It's tiring trying to be positive all the time. All in all social media is super tiring. I learned a lot of things and would like to share a little bit of it with you guys. I disconnect to reconnect

Being positive all the time is tiring

I used to update every single thing on my social media until one day I feel very exhausted of doing so. My mental health starts dropping very rapidly as well as my body. It was very exhausting to the point that I began pushing people away from me. My life went upside down, everything changed. It's sad thinking people don't even care about you but the truth is you're just OVERTHINKING. Now that is unhealthy.

I was aware that thing was wrong. So, I gotta fix it. To cherish what I have I decided to go out and find people who are dear to me. spend time with them. Chat. Talk. Make jokes. Laugh. And live. Yes, that is the way to live. The way I wish to live. I realised that and I am happy. Alhamdulillah.

Social media friends and real friends are different. Learn to differentiate them.

What I noticed is that it's like we're making social media as a bench mark for almost everything. For example the Instagram. We know Instagram are super hot these days and most of us are on it. IF the stories are hide, the account is blocked and etc, it doesn't mean that people hate you. That is not the only reason exist for people to keep you away from their life. Might be that there are things people don't wish to share. It's their right to do so. It's their very own account.

Being on social media is okay. But know your limit. Limit to yourself and the limit that you give to others. Don't make it primary or permanent because things like social media won't stay forever. As well as the people on it. The excitement won't last. Don't make it a benchmark to a friendship or relationship. This is just sick. There's a limit to everything. So, make sure you know yours.

You can change it

Rather than focusing on other people's update, staring at the phone all day long why not go find a book and read.Improve your mentality, enhance your IQ and be better in life. At least I found that to be more satisfying. every time I finished a book, I'm over the moon while loving the fact that I've at least widen every little bit of what I know and realise how shallow my mind was.

Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans.

Do what you love. Explore new things, new places. Have fun. You live once so go for it. If you're hurt, don't cling yourself to it. Learn to let go and stay true to yourself. Don't burden your heart any longer. You'll be fine sooner or later.

If you're not okay and are having a bad time, don't worry the bad times will soon be gone. Take a deep breath. I know a lot of you guys are struggling too. So take your time to get better. Move on your own pace. You know what you're capable of as you are your own master. If you wanted to cry, just cry. Let it all out. But as I always reminded everyone, come back stronger. Keep on smiling. You can do it.

Here's why I put that ice cream photo. A week ago I went to the McDonald's drive thru with my classmates and ordered their vanilla & strawberry sundae cone. It was super good. We all loved it. Each one of us had a good laugh and that very moment was a blessing that I forgot all the troubles I had in mind. It leads me to this kind of post.

Forgive me for rambling here unannounced and thank you so much for reading.

If it benefits you then there's no problem at all.

  6. Yes Ray, I agree too! It's very hard to be positive all the time. But it's also true that we are probably the one who overthinking stuff. Everything is depend on how we look into things. By the way, I love the phrase "Don't burden your heart any longer." it's so meaningful for me. Have a wonderful day ahead, Ray! :)

    1. I am glad that this post actually got a little bit of attention to some people. I really hope this could actually help even just a little bit. It means that we share the same situation and experience. I realise most us forgot a lot of things and take a long time to actually retrieve it back, just like I did. But I am glad that I was able to catch it back. Thank you so much Lala dear. Back at you as always. ^^

  14. I plan to be active in blogging this year. Maybe because not many of my real-life friends know my blog so it does not feel weird to encounter them after they have read any posts I've wrote :D

Haha entahlahh, kadang2 rasa nak quit Instagram and all other socmed, but at times, I think I still need it to get to know what's happening in the world and new technologies etc :D haha

    1. There are pros and cons in both decisions. I'd love to quit social media but there are things that binds me there not letting me quit. So taking a time off is the best solutions out of all.

Well, these days I found it even better to be away from social media and updates a little less that I did before. I hope you'll find the best way for you.

  15. That's exactly why I often absent from IG and twitter because I felt better outside of it.
There's just so many photos that I took, thinking I should post it because people might think I'm no longer active but once I'm home, I'm like, "screw them."

Not everything is meant to be share. Some things are best kept to ourselves.

    1. I agreed. I realised I've been sharing too much and that people anticipate more from me. It's tiring to live according to other people's expectations. Someday you'll lose yours. And you'll lose you.
Yeah I noticed that you rarely update and this time it's my turn too.
